Traditionally a mecca for experts, challenging terrain and an extraordinary snow record have been enhanced by ongoing lift investment to open up glorious runs for all abilities. This remote and rugged valley is the setting for one of North America’s foremost ski destinations. Between the Teton Mountain range and Snake River lie Teton Village and the town of Jackson, the former full of appeal with a handful of restaurants and après-ski bars, the latter overflowing with western character and a cosmopolitan air. Antler arches decorate the four corners of town where the shopping is classy and the cowboy bars provide live country music. For a break from skiing try your hand at tubing, dog sledding, snowmobiling or even fat tyre biking. The new Teton lift opened in December 2015 to celebrate the resorts 50th anniversary and further expand the terrain. The main skiing activity takes places around Teton Village – Rendezvous Mountain offering a challenging landscape of chutes, bowls and untracked powder, while Apres Vous mountain has a gentler terrain of blue runs, some ungroomed, as well as steep blacks. Night skiing and tubing can be enjoyed at Jackson town’s ski area Snow King, famed for its steep terrain.
